Dr. Phil Cafaro is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy. His research focuses on environmental ethics, consumption and population issues, and wild lands preservation. He is the author of Thoreau’s Living Ethics: Walden and the Pursuit of Virtue, and the co-editor of Life on the Brink: Environmentalists Confront Overpopulation. Cafaro is an affiliated faculty member of CSU’s School of Global Environmental Sustainability and President of the International Society for Environmental Ethics.

Cafaro earned his Ph.D from Boston University in 1997.
