Lorann Stallones

Stallones’ research focuses on the relationships between pesticides and mental health and safety practices on farms, adolescent farm work injuries, and suicide among farmers. She also studies ways to prevent traumatic brain injuries and school playground-related injuries.

Stallones is a Fellow in the American College of Epidemiology and served as president in 2009-2010. She serves as deputy director, evaluation lead and outreach lead for the High Plains Intermountain Center for Agricultural Health and Safety, and is a staff member of the One Health Institute. She has co-authored a textbook, “Global Health: Ecological Foundations.”

Stallones was selected as a Professor Laureate in CSU’s College of Natural Sciences in 2011 and received the Faculty Excellence in Research award from the Colorado School of Public Health in 2011.

Stallones received her B.A. in cultural anthropology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1974. She then studied at the University of Texas School of Public Health, earning her M.P.H in community health in 1975 and her Ph.D. in Epidemiology in 1982.
