Science-informed decision making

Don Mykles

Mykles, director of the University Honors Program, teaches students how to evaluate claims and make science-informed decisions in a seminar called “Myth busters: science, pseudoscience, and just plain nonsense.”

Mykles, a former associate dean for the College of Natural Sciences, also researches the regulation of molting and skeletal muscle plasticity in crabs and lobsters, which has implications for understanding the complex working of hormones as signaling mechanisms.

Mykles is a former Fulbright Scholar at the University of Heidelberg. Since coming to CSU, he has won several awards, including Outstanding Honors Academic Advisor and the College of Natural Science Excellence in Mentoring Undergraduate Research.

Mykles earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
