Dr. Brett Bruyere is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Dimension of Natural Resources and the Director of the CSU Environmental Learning Center. His research focuses on environmental education, environmental communication and planning in the context of natural or protected areas, sustainability planning, and the training of conservation professionals. Bruyere was awarded the CSU Honors Program Exceptional Teaching Award in 2007 and the El Centro Student Services Outstanding Faculty Award in 2009.

Bruyere received his B.A. in Political Science and Environmental Policy from Washington State University in 1993. He earned an M.S. and Ph.D in Human Dimension of Natural Resources from CSU in 2000 and 2002, respectively. Bruyere is the Co-Coordinator of the Children and Nature Connection – Northern Colorado.
