Arlene Schmid

Schmid focuses on stroke rehabilitation, neuro-rehabilitation and complementary and integrative therapies like yoga, both as an intervention and as a complement to rehabilitation.

Schmid is a member of the Integrative Rehabilitation Laboratory at CSU, which develops and tests yoga-based interventions for people with chronic disabilities and diseases for the strongest possible outcomes.

Schmid is a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association, and affiliated with several professional organizations including the Occupational Therapy Association of Colorado, the International Association of Yoga Therapists and the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine.

Schmid received her B.S. and M.S. in occupational therapy from D’Youville College in 1997. She earned her Ph.D. in rehabilitation science from the University of Florida in 2005.
